EVENT: 1991 Ryder Cup
The battle for the Ryder Cup has been fairly evenly matched over the last two decades, with Europe taking six of the last 10. The US came close to losing one of their four thanks to Mark Calcavecchia who was up four strokes with four holes to go on Colin Montgomerie before the unravelling began. After he hit a shot in the water, Mark missed a two-foot putt to put him up one. Calcavecchia bogeyed and Montgomerie parred, giving the Europeans a half a point. The US eventually won the Cup 14.5 to 13.5. That's right, even when we fuck up our stroke game is still superior. Pause.
