words // Steve Jaconetta

While Ken Griffey Jr. may have retired from playing the game of baseball, his legacy will continue to live on.

After leaving mid-season last year, Griffey has returned to the MLB as a special consultant for the Seattle Mariners. His footwear line is still as strong as ever with a few more colorways of the Nike Air Griffey Max I set to release. Then later in 2011 the highly anticipated return of the Nike Air Griffey Max II. But in between these releases will be an all new model, the Air Max Jr. This hybrid of sorts features an upper comprised of previous Griffey models along with Nike's Torch Tech around the midfoot sitting atop an Air Max 360 sole.

This black/varsity red colorway will be the first to release and will hit stores as a general release in April. They will retail for $160. Griffey fans, are you exitced for this release?
