Shelf Space: Sneakers for Sale at Social Status (Charlotte)

Half of the sneaker game is knowing what kicks are out when, and which shops have them. Our Shelf Space column looks at what shops around the country are stocking in a given week, and gives a quick glimpse into the mind of the buyer/manager/owner who put them there.

As we continue our mission of bringing you the insides of the best sneaker spots from around the U.S., we headed to one of our favorites — Social Status, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Frank Cooke and the guys at Social Status gave us a look at 10 of the newest sneakers currently sitting on the store shelves. Social Status says: "Growing up I have always been a fan of the Miami Hurricanes — the team, the logo, and the school colors. So when I laid eyes on these I was super excited, make sure you call in or make your way over to get you a pair."

Social Status says: "One of my favorite Dunk releases. How can you go wrong with elephant print and gold lace locks? Premium materials and a great collab name backing from Mighty Crown — this is a for sure knockout!"

Social Status says: "I am a sucker for 3M anything, whether it is on sneakers, jackets, or hats — doesn’t matter. To me, it's always a good look! Just a great looking shoe hands down!"

Social Status says: "Making its way to an iconic shoe, the Jeremy Scott Wings have become a staple in the sneaker world and this colorway is no different. Camo print is huge right now and this shoe will get you right where you need to be as far as trends are concerned!"

Social Status says: "I know that this shoe released a while back, but we have a few pairs still lingering around the store. I do not think that this shoe got its 'just-due' on its release, so I wanted to pay some homage to this dope release!"

Social Status says: "It's all about INFRARED, INFRARED, INFRARED! It is one of my favorite colors ever, it just gives the 'color pop' to any project... SUPER DOPE!"

Social Status says: "There is not much to say about this shoe, except that it is super clean. I think that this shoe was perfectly executed, period."

Social Status says: "These released when I was six years old, and what a good time in sneakers! This shoe is so nostalgic, sneakers were booming at this time and there is nothing different in the re-release — excellent shoe."

Social Status says: "Perfectly executed shoe, such a special package and we are glad to say we carry them. We have only one pair left, if you need it. If you are lucky, call us up."

Social Status says: "Just a well-crafted shoe. To put an Air Force High with a classic Duck Boot is pure genius! Great materials and colorway. An absolute hit for the winter!"
