The United States men's national team fell to Germany 0-1 yesterday afternoon, but a turn of events at the end of the Portugal-Ghana game helped to push us through to the next round of the World Cup. With the match-up tied at 1-1, Cristiano Ronaldo scored at the 80 minute mark to lift Portugal to a 2-1 win, ensuring that the United States will pass through Group G into the elimination round. The unlikely scenario comes after Sunday's Portugal-US tie, where Ronaldo assisted on a heartbreaking last-minute goal to snatch the victory away. The United States' journey into the Round of 16 begins next Tuesday at 4PM Eastern against Belgium.

On the Wimbledon grass, Rafael Nadal got his swagger back after a stint of bad luck in previous years. The two-time Wimbledon winner has only one a single match at the All England Club in the last two years, but now he's looking more like his old self with a 2nd round win over Lukas Rosol, the same man who eliminated him in 2012.
