For Air Max heads and runner enthusiasts, Parra's Nike collaborations are nothing short of legendary. The artist's projects have produced some of the most coveted Air Max 1s of all-time, but the collaborative output has tapered off considerably in recent years. For summer '18, they're getting back to work.
Leak account @py_rates dropped images of the sneakers today after teasing the collab earlier this year. Sticking with Parra's light-hearted design language, this pair makes use of a patchwork-like upper, covering the heel and mudguard in a mix of patterns. The relatively simple white and grey base is accented with light blue and red, while mismatched striped and polka dot panels fill in the overlays.
According to py_rates, there's also a friends and family version of the collab expected to be revealed soon.
The 2018 Parra x Nike Air Max 1 retails for $150 and is slated to drop on Saturday, July 21.

UPDATE (07/02): Nike shares an official look at the retail and friends and family versions of the Parra x Air Max 1 along with the artist's Zoom Spiridon collaboration. Friends and family iteration aside, this collab will release Saturday, July 21.
“There are two people who sit on your shoulder and watch what you're doing all the time. One says, ‘The collector is going to like this,’” Parra said of the concept behind the seemingly risky collab. “And then the opposite, which queries: ‘How does somebody who is 17 or 18 years old—with no idea about what I did before—how are they going to look at this?’"
