Like the "Infrared" Air Max 90, "Neon" Air Max 95, and "Silver Bullet" Air Max 97, Nike's Air Max BW's "Persian Violet" colorway is synonymous with the 1991 "Big Window" model. And while the white, black, and violet combination has found its way to models such as the Air Max Zero, Air Max 93, and Air Max 95, it's managed to elude the Air Max 97—until now.

Set to drop soon from Nike Sportswear is a "White/Black/Persian Violet" take on the Air Max 97. This colorway sticks with blocking similar to the original Air Max BW, blending a white and black-based upper with hits of violet on its liner and Air bag.

While it's not technically an OG colorway, this is one style that should satisfy purists thanks to its familiar look. The "Persian Violet" Air Max 97 is available now from select retailers including Eastbay.

In related news, UK rapper Skepta's latest Nike collab fused the upper of the Air Max BW with the sole of the Air Max 97.
