Lonnie Walker IV has been with Adidas for less than a month, but the San Antonio Spurs rookie is already making an impact with his sponsorship.
Reading Eagle reports that Walker teamed up with Eric Wise, category director of merchandising at Adidas Originals U.S., to give back to their hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania. Both attended Reading High School, and now they're hooking their hometown up with $30,000 worth of Adidas sneakers.
A total of 300 pairs of Adidas shoes including the Crazy BYW were sent to Reading's Blacktop Basketball League, an organization which provides athletes ranging from ages 7 to 15 with safe places to hone their skills.
"I'm sure the kids will be overwhelmed. I'm looking forward to seeing the reaction of the kids when they do receive them. To see the expressions will be priceless," said Blacktop Basketball League executive director Veronica Brown.
