The Nike Zoom Streak LT 2 is one of our favorite racing flats of the year. Suitable for a variety of surfaces including dry cross-country, road and city running, and track and field, the Zoom Streak LT 2 is one of the best sneaker investments a runner can make this season. Picking up where the popular Zoom Streak XC left off, the Nike Zoom Streak LT 2 steers away from the one-piece construction of its predecessor for a more flexible and lightweight feel. It’s loaded with Zoom Air cushioning in the heel to keep you moving efficiently, while full-length Cushlon softens the landing. Meanwhile, Nike’s Dynamic Fit technology is used to enhance the breathable mesh and synthetic upper, keeping your foot in place on the most unpredictable of surfaces.
Unfortunately, the Zoom Streak LT 2 isn’t getting quite as much love in the colorway as some of Nike’s other popular runners such as the Flyknits and Air Maxes. So, with the intention of spicing things up a little bit, we’ve cooked up a batch of classic Swoosh colorways on the Zoom Streak LT 2 that could take this model to the next level. Air Max 95 “Neon”
Sure, the Black/Sail/Volt makeup of the Zoom Streak LT 2 is pretty close, but it’d be even better with the gradient-like greys made famous by the AM95 “Neon”. This colorblocking would help to break up the upper’s tonal feel, bringing some of the easily overlooked, yet undeniably clean, design cues to life. Cap it off with a white mesh toe box and we’d be some of the first in line on release day.
LeBron “South Beach”
LeBron may have taken his talents from Cleveland to South Beach and back again, but that doesn’t make the bold “Pre-Heat” colorway any less iconic. There was a stretch around 2012 when Nike seemed to be running the once-unique color into the ground, but now that it’s cooled off a bit, we’d love to see it plastered on this low profile racer.
Air Max 1 “White/University Red”
The Zoom Streak LT 2 isn’t an Air Max sneaker, but its sleek silhouette lends itself well to a number of classic AM makeups. We’d take it back to where it all started in ’87 with the Air Max 1, sporting a look that’s rather simple by today’s standards. Crispy white, soft grey, and university red have never looked so good.
Air Huarache “Scream Green”
From Agassi and Bo’s trainers to fiery running kicks, Nike’s ‘90s aesthetic was untouchable. The Scream Green and Royal Air Huarache was part of that pack, and its unusual color blocking proved to be the perfect way to show off Tinker Hatfield’s latest innovation. Now that the classic original model is set to make a return, why not kill two birds with one stone and throw us a “Scream Green” Zoom Streak too?
Air Max 90 “Infrared”
You know what it is. With more variations than any other Nike running colorway, we’d like to see one more “Infrared” in the form of the Zoom Streak LT 2. With just the right balance of white, black, grey, and the iconic infrared, these would be a can’t-miss.
Air Max 97 “Silver Bullet”
The Zoom Streak LT 2 is all about speed, and the gleaming makeup of the Air Max 97 “Silver Bullet” would really help to encapsulate that feel. Plus, with a similar ankle cut and overall silhouette, the Air Max 97 makeover would be nearly effortless.
Air Yeezy 2 “Solar Red”
Alright, alright, so maybe you’re sick of Yeezy colorways. But let’s be honest, is there any shoe that this colorway doesn’t look good on? The mesh toe pattern of the Zoom Streak would help to bring the reptile vibe, while a solid black upper, glow in the dark outsole, and solar red liner would take this one over the top.
