Although last weekend's "Anthracite" Air Jordan IXs are still available from several retailers, the sneaker sold a lot better than you might think.
Investors.com reports that pre-Labor Day basketball shoe sales saw a 6.5 percent jump from the same time last year, and it was due in large part to the "Anthracite" IXs.
In fact, the IXs weren't just the best-selling basketball sneaker, but the top seller in the entire athletic footwear category. Let this serve as a reminder that even if a sneaker doesn't sell out immediately, it's not necessarily a flop.
Overall, Nike's sales jumped 6.8 percent from last year. Meanwhile, Under Armour continued to impress with a massive 46.6 percent increase. Surprisingly, adidas did not fare as well and experienced an 11.9 percent drop.
You can still cop the "Anthracite" Jordan IXs right now from Nikestore for $190.
