Last week, we saw the return of the classic “Bred” Air Jordan XIII. This week brings us more retro basketball silhouettes from the LeBron James lineage, as well as a new spin on a throwback Air Jordan model.
Nike is releasing its third LeBron retro this weekend with the “First Game” colorway of the Air Zoom Generation he wore during his 2004 NBA debut in Sacramento.
Jordan Brand also has a pretty strong offering this week with the release of the new “Cool Grey” Air Jordan 8 colorway, and the third installment of their hybrid model that fuses Roger Federer’s Vapor Tour 9 with the classic Air Jordan 3 “Fire Red.”
Nike is debuting the latest post-NBA model from the Kobe Bryant line, the Kobe A.D. Mid, in five tonal colorways, and turning back the clock with a special pair of the Nike Cortez that pays tribute to University of Oregon distance runner and Cortez wear-tester Kenny Moore. The long-awaited stateside retro release of the Nike Flyknit Trainer will also be going down this Thursday, too.
Nike is also delivering more new takes on popular lifestyle models with a new “Velvet Brown” colorway of the SF AF-1 High, and a black and metallic silver colorway of the Air Max 1 Jewel.
The Weeknd’s signature model with Puma will finally make its debut this week, and Adidas is dropping two separate collaborations: an EQT Support ADV with Highs and Lows, and a two pairs of the EQT Support Ultra PK with Sneakersnstuff.

Nike Zoom Vapor RF x Air Jordan III “Fire Red”

What You Need to Know: To celebrate the beginning of the U.S. Open, Nike is returning with its third installment of the hybrid between Roger Federer’s Vapor Tour 9, and Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan III. This time, Nike combines the tennis base model with popular features of the Air Jordan III “Fire Red,” including black Elephant Print on the toe and heel, a Jordan III heel tab with red “Nike Air” branding, and red Jumpman branding on the tongue.
Nike Flyknit Trainer
Price: $150
When: Thursday, Aug. 24 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: After releasing last month overseas, this sneaker from 2012 finally gets its official reintroduction stateside. Back in its popular black-and-white debut colorway, the Nike Flyknit Trainer returns with all of the features of the original pair. The only subtle difference is that the ankle collar is now white with black stripes instead of black with white stripes like it was on the original release. White Flyknit makes up the entirety of the upper with black accents on the toebox, swoosh, midsole, heel tab, and around the ankle collar.
Nike Kobe A.D. Mid

What You Need to Know: Kobe Bryant’s latest post-retirement signature model with Nike will be a mid-top version of the Kobe A.D. This model will debut in five tonal colorways that each represent different characteristics: purple for fearlessness, red for passion, yellow for optimism, grey for neutrality, and blue for honesty. Each colorway also features distinct details on the heel cup, Nike swoosh, and toe box to coincide with each characteristic.
The Weeknd x Puma XO Parallel

What You Need to Know: The Weeknd’s debut sneaker with Puma is finally releasing after being seen on the singer’s feet for many stops of his Starboy Tour. Combining a military boot inspiration with Puma’s branding and Ignite cushioning, the XO Parallel certainly provides a more high fashion aesthetic. The pair features off white Italian nubuck on the upper, and sits atop a white rubber midsole. Other details include a zipper on the heel, and XO branding on the tongue.
Nike Air Max 1 Jewel Black/White-Metallic Silver
Price: $140
When: Thursday, Aug. 24 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: Another jewel swooshed Air Max 1 is on the way from Nike. This popular iteration from the ‘90s has seen a resurgence this year with a handful of pairs releasing across 2017. This colorway features a black leather upper, and metallic silver jewel swoosh. It is finished off with metallic silver accents on the tongue and heel branding, white midsole, and black outsole.
Adidas EQT Pack Black/Black/White

What You Need to Know: Adidas is releasing a plethora of EQT models this week including the EQT Support 93/17, EQT Support ADV Primeknit, EQT Support ADV, EQT Support RF Primeknit, and EQT Support RF. All of the pairs feature black uppers with white contrast stitching. A majority of the models utilize Adidas’ go-to tech like Primeknit and Boost cushioning.

Nike SF AF-1 ‘Velvet Brown’

What You Need to Know: Nike returns with yet another colorway of this popular Air Force 1 hybrid model. Just in time for the fall, this latest tonal colorway features a velvet brown suede on the toe, mid panels, and swoosh, while the high ankle collar and various ankle straps utilize a ballistic nylon material.
Nike Cortez ‘Kenny Moore’
Price: $100
When: Friday, Aug. 25 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: This special pair of the Nike Cortez pays homage to former University of Oregon track runner Kenny Moore who was a big piece in the creation of the original Nike Cortez. Moore was a runner for Bill Bowerman, and tested many of the early prototypes for the Cortez. This pair is constructed of an all-white leather with orange accenting the midsole. Special details include “Moore” written in black on the lateral heel in place of the usual Nike swoosh, a white leather Nike swoosh on the medial side of the shoe, debossed Nike heel tab, and special insoles that feature one of Bowerman’s training regimens.
Highs and Lows x Adidas Consortium EQT Support ADV

What You Need to Know: Although this pair released exclusively at Highs and Lows last week, this week the collaboration sees a global release. This Australian shop’s latest Adidas collaboration on the EQT Support ADV is inspired by the European Renaissance and dons a sand colorway across its Primeknit upper, leather mudguard, and heel cage. The pair is finished off with olive accents on the three stripes branding and lace lock, as well as gum hits on the heel and toe of the outsole.
Sneakersnstuff x Adidas EQT Support Ultra PK ‘Materials’ Pack
Price: $180

Where: Exclusively at SNS in-store and online
What You Need to Know: This collaborative release between Sneakersnstuff and Adidas features two colorways of the Adidas EQT Support Ultra PK. Both the navy and cream colorways feature feature Primeknit uppers, and Boost cushioning in the midsole.

Air Jordan VIII 'Cool Grey'
Price: $190

What You Need to Know: This Air Jordan VIII makes its return for the first time since February in a brand new “Cool Grey” colorway. Popularized by the Air Jordan 11, this pair uses cool grey across the entire upper. Suede covers most of the shoe, and leather is used on the heel. The only color contrast comes in the form of a lighter shade of grey being used on the midsole, and the Jumpman logo on the tongue.
Nike Air Zoom Generation “First Game”
Price: $175 When: Saturday, Aug. 26 at 10 a.m. Where: Available on Nike SNKRS and select retailers What You Need to Know: After bringing back LeBron James’s first signature model this past January, Nike is back with another original colorway. This time it is the pair James wore during his first NBA game against the Sacramento Kings in 2004. The shoe is constructed mostly of a white leather with black mesh side panels, and crimson red accents on the tongue, outlining the swoosh, and on the Hummer-inspired chrome heel plate.
