Although this week of sneaker releases is rather light in comparison to most weeks, there is still some solid pairs to look forward to. Highlights this week include the "NASA" Nike PG 3, "Hyper Crimson" Air Jordan I, and a Kobe I Protro to commemorate the 13th anniversary of Kobe Bryant dropping 81 points against the Toronto Raptors.

Nike Zoom Kobe I Protro '81 Points'

What You Need to Know: Jan. 22 marks the 13th anniversary of Kobe Bryant's historic 81-point performance against the Toronto Raptors in 2006. To commemorate the occasion, Nike is dropping a new Kobe 1 Protro in the same colorway that the Black Mamba wore during the amazing performance. A white leather upper is accented by a black Swoosh, purple hits on the heel and midsole, and subtle yellow detailing to match the uniforms of the Los Angeles Lakers. This pair also features all of the updated details of the Protro model like a more lightweight upper and full-length Zoom Air.
Air Jordan I 'Hyper Crimson'

When: Thursday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: Jordan Brand is dropping a brand new colorway of the Air Jordan I. The "Hyper Crimson" color scheme features a black tumbled leather upper with grey suede overlays. A patina'd Hyper Crimson ankle collar slightly resembles the vintage-inspired detail seen previously on the Union x Air Jordan I collab. A cream-colored Wings logo and midsole add to the old school look. "SP 19 Air Jordan 1 High OG" is written under the Swoosh on the lateral side panel, a subtle detail that can't help but evoke thoughts of Virgil Abloh's trademark branding seen across the Off-White x Nike "The Ten" range.
Nike Air Max 270 ISPA

When: Friday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: Originally believed to release earlier this month, Nike is finally debuting the Air Max 270 ISPA (Improvise/Scavenge/Protect/Adapt) this Friday. The lifestyle follow-up to the React LW WR Mid features a similar upper design with the biggest difference being a thick netting covering the entire upper. The React midsole on the first pair has also been replaced by a chunky Air Max 270 unit. A pull cord system on the heel gives this silhouette a technical vibe. It is set to will release in white, black, and blue-based colorways.

Nike Kyrie 5 'Just Do It'

What You Need to Know: The latest colorway of the Nike Kyrie 5 is inspired by the brand's famous "Just Do It" slogan. A black mesh upper is accented by bright hits of pink, blue, and neon green. Mismatched "Just Do It" branding is written in its recognizable font on each lateral side panel. A retro-styled Nike tag hangs off of the lateral side as well. This eye-catching upper sits atop a pink midsole and multi-colored outsole.
Nike PG 3 'NASA'

When: Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: Nike is introducing Paul George's latest signature model to the market with the space-themed "NASA" PG 3. The low-top features an orange mesh upper, metallic silver panels on the heel, tongue, and midsole, and mismatched red and blue wings at the forefoot for added lockdown. Official NASA detailing comes in the form of NASA and Apollo 16 crests on each respective heel, an American flag patch on the right tongue, and a red "Remove Before Flight" hang tag. NASA logos are also emblazoned on each insole. "Don't tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon," is printed on the heel portion of each midsole.
Air Jordan V JSP 'Laney'

What You Need to Know: Jordan Brand has crafted another Air Jordan V colorway inspired by Michael Jordan's high school, Emsley A. Laney. Differing from the "Laney" Air Jordan V that originally released in 2000, this pair swaps out a white leather upper in favor of a royal blue nubuck. Yellow hits appear on the midsole, liner, "23" embroidery on the lateral heel, and tongue to match the team colors of the Buccaneers. A chenille Jumpman on the tongue further adds to the high school-inspired design.
Adidas by Pharrell Williams 'Chinese New Year' Pack
Price: $150-$250
When: Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: Pharrell's latest project with Adidas will be a two-shoe pack celebrating Chinese New Year. The basketball-inspired Crazy BYW is dressed in a traditional red and yellow Primeknit upper covered in a gold dragon scale pattern. "Ambition" embroidered down each foot in white adds even more detail to the colorway. It sits atop a podular Boost midsole.
The second shoe from the pack is a Solar Hu Glide ST. The low-top sports a red and black color scheme with gold accents. It sits atop a full-length Boost midsole. Its main detail is "Hu" embroidered on the right toe and a Chinese symbol stitched on the left.
