After originally surfacing last week under the Jordan Fly Next moniker, Jordan Brand has officially unveiled Russell Westbrook's first on-court signature model, the Why Not Zer0.1. This will likely be the first of many signature sneakers since Westbrook signed a 10-year contract extension with Jordan Brand back in Sept. 2017.
Tonight, Westbrook will be wearing his new sneaker on court for the first time when the Oklahoma City Thunder take the floor against the Los Angeles Lakers. It will be a special "Mirror Image" PE colorway that showcases a black and white all-over print of various imagery related to both Westbrook and Michael Jordan. It also sports red accents and sits on an icy outsole.
The Why Not Zer0.1 features a fused mesh across the upper and vamp covering the lacing system for added lockdown. The silhouette also has a compression-molded pylon foam heel piece, Velcro ankle strap, and full length Zoom Air unit. Branding includes a Jumpman logo on the vamp, Westbrook's logo on the strap, and his signature "Why Not?" mantra on the tongue.
The Why Not Zer0.1 will officially launch with a limited release of the "Mirror Image" colorway on Jan. 15. Jordan Brand will also be releasing a black and white colorway dubbed the "2-Way" on Feb. 15. Retail is set at $125.
