Nike rebuilds the classic Cortez with a Flyknit upper.

Nike is combining the new and the old with one of its latest releases. The upcoming Nike Cortez Flyknit combines the classic Cortez runner, a silhouette instrumental to the brand's early success, with its modern Flyknit technology.

The shoe itself looks drastically different from the traditional Cortez. It sports a sleeker shape, elastic ankle collar, and pull tab separating it from the original design. The shoe replaces the usual leather found on the upper of the Cortez with Flyknit, and appears to sport a Nike Free outsole instead of the standard one.

This debut colorway of the Nike Cortez Flyknit draws on the iconic "Forrest Gump" colorway. Release date and pricing have not been announced.
