Reebok recently linked up with some creative design operations to develop fitness accessory prototypes using its new Flexweave technology, first seen on the Fast Flexweave running shoe. The brand’s latest material features a woven figure-8 structure connected by strands of fiber to make up the entirety of the sneaker’s upper.

The Flexweave technology was repurposed by Joe Doucet x Partners (USA), Modla (England), and Odd Matter (AN) to create running gloves with GPS navigation, a 3D printed altitude training mask, and light-weight active sitting chairs. This was the result of the designers being tasked with investigating the properties of Flexweave and creating unique designs that showcase the comfort and durability the new material boasts.

The project comes from the minds of the Reebok Innovation Collective, a special group at Reebok tasked with the job of progressing the brand through groundbreaking innovation and partnerships for new technology. Reebok Running's global marketing director, James Woolard, explained that the concept will play an important role in the brand's future. “Flexweave is going to a major part of the Reebok DNA moving forward. With this creative and imaginative project, we’ve achieved exactly what we set out to do; demonstrate through collaborations in other fields what Flexweave can truly achieve when put to the ultimate test.”

The Reebok Fast Flexweave is set to drop in February of 2018.
