The Nike Air Rift, which first released in 1996, is an outlier in Nike's running history. It has its fans amongst the niche consumers, but it's rarely seen recent mainstream success. With the 10-year anniversary of the Nike Free, a sneaker that the Rift was a predecessor to, the Rift has seen a couple releases this year—most notably the all-black and O.G. black/red/green.
Now, Nike will release the purple/white version of the split-toed sneaker at its NikeLab locations this Thursday, August 7, according to the NikeLab Twitter account.
Maybe this means there are more Rifts on the way.
