Last month news broke that long-time Nike employee Gentry Humphrey was resigning to pursue other opportunities. This came as a shock to the sneaker community and looked to be a blow to Nike considering the important role that he played in helping grow the Jordan Brand and Nike Sportswear businesses. Details about his next move had been quiet, but tonight Nice Kicks Creative Director Nick DePaula reported that Humphrey has decided to stay with the Swoosh.

Nike reportedly made Humphrey a counter-offer that changed his mind and keeps him on board to lead Nike Golf. There is no question that this is a huge win for the brand and based off his track record, we can all expect to see some big things coming from Nike Golf in the near future.
