“In West Philadelphia, born and raised, in the playground is where I spent most of my days” became the anthem for the ‘90s. Let’s be real: a Throwback Thursday cannot pass without at least one reference to the legendary Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Will taught us about life, showed us how to rock a snapback, and gifted us with timeless fat jokes courtesy of Uncle Phil. The only thing fresher than his eyebrow raising pick-up lines were the sneakers on his feet. The Fresh Prince made history in the “Homeboy, Sweet Homeboy” episode premiering the Jordan Grape V’s, leaving sneaker fiends drooling and demanding Nike re-release the colorway.

Here are 12 Jordan Grape Collection Items that you would probably find on the show if it still aired. Head to toe grape selections are set to drop at your local Champs Sports on 4/17.

Jordan Flight Club 91 – 'White/Grape Ice/New Emerald'

The grape styling of the V transcends the original line of Jordan’s. This flight ’91 gives us a good vision of what a ‘grape’ inspired VI would look dripped in grape ice and new emerald. Will sported the Jordan V’s off court, but on court he would have worn these to light up Malibu Prep, maybe even hit the game winning shot on Marcus.

Jordan SC-1 – 'White/Grape Ice/New Emerald'

The grape SC-1 is a lifestyle shoe, inspired by the Retro III with a basketball/skate feel. The high cut top gives us a nod to the shredders while the sole pays homage to the ballers. The Fresh Prince suit and tie checklist! Colorful tank top inside. Check. Bow tie. Check. Cummerbund at chest. Check. These sneakers with the tongue out over the slacks. Check.

Jordan 1 Flight Mid – 'White/Black/Grape Ice/New Emerald'

Made to mirror the Retro 1 (without the Swoosh), the Jordan Flight 1 Mid is the ode to the original while drawing off the branded Jordan line. Taking cues from the Jordan 4, the latest colorway gives a nod to the Jordan V while paying homage to the original. These would actually make Carlton’s Tom Jones dance work… ok maybe not.

MJ AJ5 Pocket Tank – 'Grape Ice/White/New Emerald'

A spring baller’s uniform starts with tanks and slides before morphing into a devastating on-court presence. While you’re waiting for the next game of pick-up, try not getting into a fight that will have you packing your bags to Aunt and Uncle’s. Yes, you know that part of the opening credits: “couple of guys they were up to no good, started making trouble in my neighborhood. Got into one little fight and my mom got scared, she said you are moving with your aunt and uncle to place called Bel-Air.”

MJ AJ5 Grapes Tee - 'White/Grape Ice/New Emerald' Style

The new school version of the ‘Grape’ tee highlights what the colorway craze has become identified as to the current generation. Since ‘Grape’ has lived on, the tee highlights the term referred to by the new generation ‘Grapes’ and also identifies the 5 lineage. If Fresh Prince was to do a remake with Jayden Smith, he would rock this paying homage to his pops.

MJ Action Lay-up Short - 'New Emerald/Grape Ice'

Any baller knows a closet isn’t complete without a pair of Jordan shorts. Almost as classic as the shoe (and colorway) itself, Jordan shorts continue to be the versatile off-court/on-court piece. With these shorts you can go from chilling to hooping with no work. Go from the set of the Fresh Prince to the video shoot of Summertime!

MJ Action Shot Short – 'New Emerald/Grape Ice'

Another variation of the grape short, this lifestyle piece pays homage to the V. Like a quick cross-over switch up the pace and turn the heads of the competition with these Jordan shorts. These would have helped Carlton make a basket instead of stealing the ball from Will.

MJ Hat Collection

Much like a basketball team with a deep bench it’s always good to have a rotation. This spread of grape Jumpman hats gives a nod to the origination of the logo while showing current iterations. Top off your look by going to the bench for these hats featuring the progression of the Jumpman. Rock it Straight backwards like the Fresh Prince, where it’s enough to show off that high fade!
