Jerry Lorenzo has taken to Instagram to share of the plans his brand Fear of God has in the works for this summer, In a recent post, Lorenzo confirmed that he and Nike plan to release the previous Friends & Family exclusive colorway of the Nike Air Fear of God Raid at some point this summer.

“Yes, the friends and family Air Raid  is releasing sometime this summer,” Lorenzo wrote in the post. “Of all the sneakers I’ve designed (main line, Nike, Vans, Zegna, Essentials, etc), this is by far my favorite.”

The Fear of God Raid, based on Tinker Hatfield's 1992 outdoor basketball sneaker, the Nike Air Raid, previously released in "Black" and "Light Bone" colorways last spring. Lorenzo explained why the upcoming colorway is different from its predecessors.

"I feel like we modernized this shoe perfectly. Unlike the bone and black general releases, we hid the laces under the straps for a cleaner toe box," he said. "Had we had one more round of sampling with the bone and black Raids, I would have removed the laces on those also. As much as I love those two, the laces felt slightly like an over-designed element I wish i had removed.

Lorenzo added that he’s happy that his “favorite all-time sneaker” will finally be getting a larger general release, though a date hasn't been confirmed yet. The closest Fear of God release that we know of is the “Triple Black” Nike Air Fear of God 1, which is reportedly releasing on April 25 at select Nike retailers for $350. Updates on the Raids as more information becomes available here at Sole Collector.
