Of course, this list wouldn't be complete without including the original "Flu Games." The 2016 Air Jordan 12 Retro "Flu Game" is classic, an ode to Michael Jordan's legendary performance in Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals. For those that recall, MJ had come down with flu-like symptoms right before the game, but still managed to take the Bulls to a 3-2 series lead over the Utah Jazz. First retroed in 2003 and again in 2009, the 2016 "Flu Game" version mirrors the original design with its black tumbled leather upper and varsity red accents.

The 2013 Air Jordan 12 Retro "Taxi" is a return of the original white/black colorway worn by Jordan during the 1996-97 NBA regular season. That pair from the '90s was the marquee colorway for the Jordan 12 upon its arrival. The shoe was given its first low-top treatment in 2004 and retroed in 2008, but the 2013 "Taxi" remains one of the most popular 12s.

Released in April of 2016, the Air Jordan 12 Retro "French Blue" features a clean mix of a white tumbled leather upper with a French Blue mudguard. The colorway first released in 2004 as a Washington Wizards-themed pair of sneakers for MJ. After Jordan retired from the NBA, the sneakers were worn by the late Kobe Bryant during the 2003-04 season. Despite not being a Bulls colorway, this version of the Jordan 12 counts plenty of Jordan Brand purists among its fans.

These Air Jordan 12s were a special model featured in Nike's 2017 Doernbecher Collection, where all proceeds went to the Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Oregon. Designed by Carissa Navarro, who was nine years old at the time and born without kidneys, the shoe featured the things most important to her, including pictures of her stuffed dog Max, a baseball, and a basketball. Her twin sister's name, Savannah, appears on the left heel, while Carissa's is on the right.

The "Cherry" is a retro of the 1997 original colorway worn by Michael Jordan during his fifth NBA Championship season. The sneakers are a classic blend of white leather upper and red textured mudguard. Fittingly, the heel features the number 23 in white font against a red contrast finished with black and red outsole that's ribbed in the middle to reveal a zig-zag pattern on the carbon fiber shank plate.

Although the Obsidian first dropped in February 1997, the colorway didn't see a retro until 2012. At the time of the '97 release, it was rare for an Air Jordan to drop in a non-Bulls colorway. It was the only Air Jordan 12 colorway of the original five that Michael Jordan never wore in a game.
