Nike's recently launched "Just Do It" campaign caused quite a national uproar last week, when the brand announced free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick as the face of the project. Supporting Nike's message is actor and comedian Jim Carrey, who made a bold fashion statement during an appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher last night.
Carrey purchased a pair of what he called the "Freedom-Friendly Nikes," which turned out to be Don C's Air Jordan Legacy 312, worn in support of Kaepernick and Nike. Carrey is very outspoken against Trump's politics, often his taking to his social media platforms to share anti-Trump artwork, including recently sharing a piece thanking Nike.
Despite the many threats to boycott the Swoosh including backlash from the POTUS himself, Nike's online sales reportedly jumped 31 percent since the Labor Day weekend when the ad first hit the net.
