Today, Dwyane Wade has announced the signing of D'Angelo Russell to his Way of Wade line with Li-Ning. The multi-year endorsement deal will make him the new on-court face of the brand following Wade's retirement.
This signing should come as no surprise as Russell has worn a selection of Way of Wade models on the court since the beginning of the season. “I have much respect for D’Angelo and the way he plays the game. I am excited for this partnership and wouldn’t want anyone else to be the leader and the face of this brand," says Wade. “I grew up admiring Dwyane Wade’s game. Now, another blessing on this journey as I am proud to announce I will be joining the Way Of Wade family,” Russell states.
To kick off the new partnership, Russell is expected to lace up the Way of Wade 8, the latest performance basketball model from the line. He previously wore Nike while at Ohio State University, and remained with the brand during his first four seasons in the NBA.
The Li-Ning Way of Wade 8 will release sometime next month on wayofwade.com.
