During Kobe Bryant's year as a sneaker free agent in 2002-03 season he was laced with player exclusives from a variety of companies. Those PEs produced by Jordan Brand, in particular, have gone down as some of the most coveted in Bryant's entire sneaker history.
Among those shoes was a white and purple Air Jordan 9 colorway that eventually released in 2016. It turns out, however, that wasn't the only Air Jordan 9 made for the Lakers legend. PEvault has recently unveiled a cool grey colorway of the Air Jordan 9 that was also made for Bryant.
Similar to the 2002 retail version of the "Cool Grey" Air Jordan 9, the shoe's upper sports a mix of grey nubuck and patent leather, with a smoked outsole. Yellow trim has been added to the tongue tag and heel, and Bryant's then-number 8 can be found in place of the traditional 23.
A Kobe Bryant x Air Jordan 3 and 8 Pack commemorating Bryant's retirement also dropped for friends and family exclusively in 2016, and is available on the resale market for over $20,000.
