Kevin Plank, the outspoken founder and CEO of Under Armour, took another shot at Nike over the weekend. During an interview on NBC's Today Show on Sunday, he briefly touched on his feelings towards his biggest competition in the sportswear market.
"We're aware of them, we have great respect for them," Plank said. "What they do, they don't fight fair."
Plank's criticism is somewhat hollow—when pressed for an elaboration on the response, he offers only that Nike has more money than he does and that "big companies do what big companies do."
The CEO also discussed his controversial remarks in support of Donald Trump, arguing that the media spun his statement about the president being a "real asset."
"I think that it was unfortunate that my words got characterized in a way that were meant to be divisive in some way, shape, or form," Plank said, reasoning that his positive outlook was a product of his own constant optimism rather than an express approval of President Trump.
