This LED Sneaker Invention Looks Strangely Familiar

A Florida couple has invented the LED Sneaker, designed to increase the visibility of the wearer.

A Florida couple is getting some media attention for their LEDsneakers invention, which features light up soles intended for safety purposes.

Kenny and Stacy Bare had the idea for the shoes after a student at the school Stacy teaches at was hit by a car. While the cause of keeping kids safe is a noble one, the only sneakers that they've "designed" so far are knockoff pairs of the Nike Flyknit Air Max with LEDs slid into the Air Max bags on bottom. The Sole Collector staff doesn't claim to be experts in the realm of intellectual property, but such a blatant copy of an existing Nike model seems like grounds for an eventual cease and desist letter for the team behind LEDsneakers. More information on the project is available via the LEDsneakers Facebook page and the Fox35 video below.
