Iconic streetwear brand Stüssy will release three versions of the Nike Vandal in 2023, according to an internal Nike document viewed by Complex. The shoes are projected to release next June, but could arrive later—sneaker release dates have recently been unstable due in part to global supply chain issues.
The document does not contain any images of the upcoming Stüssy x Nike Vandals, and the photo shown here is of a previous Nike Vandal retro.
The Nike Vandal, which originally released around 1984, has never enjoyed the retro success of similar models from the same era like the Air Force 1, Air Jordan 1, or Dunk. It did make a few cinematic appearances during its original run, showing up on the feet of character Kyle Reese in the first Terminator and Doc Brown in Back to the Future.
Nike, a brand not keen on acknowledging leaks in any way, did not respond to a request for comment on the upcoming Vandal collabs. Stüssy also did not respond to a request for comment.
Stüssy is one of Nike’s longest-running collaborative partners, having worked with the sneaker brand on special edition releases since 2000. It’s been newly prolific in recent years, designing Stüssy versions of retro models like the Nike Air Penny 2, Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2, and Nike Air Max 2015.
UPDATE (05/31): Stüssy has confirmed that its “Deep Royal Blue” Nike Vandal High collab will be released on June 9 at Stussy.com and at select retailers for $130. The shoe will also release on June 15 via SNKRS.
