The Seattle Seahawks' efforts to get head coach Pete Carroll out of his Nike Air Monarchs have clearly been unsuccessful. They can blame the campaign's failure on Nike, who have been sending special edition versions of the shoes to Carroll to encourage him.
On Friday, the brand unveiled another Nike Air Monarch 4 designed just for Carroll. This one again has Seattle Seahawks colors and even uses the coach's "Always Compete" mantra on its tongue.
While the Nike Air Monarch 4 is widely ridiculed in the sneakerhead community, it's one of Nike's best-selling shoes of all time thanks to its modest $55 price and comfortable ride. The special Carroll version isn't up for grabs, but there are always colorways available here for readers who need to step their unassuming footwear game up.
