Ronnie Fieg and his KITH boutique just took sneaker shipping to a new level, introducing an option that allows customers in the vicinity of the NYC shop to have online purchases shipped via Uber in a matter of hours.
The UberRush shipping option debuted today in conjunction with the surprise "Kithstrike" release of 24 pairs of Fieg's Diadora RF700 "Primo" sneaker, which will get a full release on Oct. 23. The sneakers were only available to shoppers with a Manhattan shipping address, and those who ordered will get their pair delivered to them within two hours.
The option isn't terribly expensive compared to conventional shipping either, costing just $8.30 in the case of an order we placed.
It's unclear if KITH is planning on making UberRush shipping available on more products, but if so, it would be a huge boon to anyone who has dealt with the agony of waiting around for a sneaker delivery.
