Rita Ora Thought She Had a Jordan Collab

Rita Ora thought the Air Jordan 9 'Motorboat Jones' was a special pair for her.

Rita Ora has plenty of history in the world of sneakers, with the British singer working at Euro sportswear shop Size? before becoming famous and releasing a series of collaborations via Adidas once she did. She was even under the impression at one point that she had her own exclusive pair of Jordans.

In the latest episode of Sneaker Shopping, Ora says she was misled to believe that the Air Jordan 9 "Motorboat Jones", which she wore for a performance at the 2012 MTV EMA Awards, was made for her.

"This shoe brings back so many memories," she says while holding the 2012 release. "I don't know if my stylist was lying to me or not, but he told me that they made this color for me. And now I see it here, so I feel like it's not a true story."

Ora's suspicions are correct—the red Air Jordan 9 "Motorboat Jones" was part of a pack referencing imagined alternate identities for Michael Jordan, and had nothing to do with her.
