Nike's "Most Stable Running Shoe" Is Coming Back

The 2015 return of the Nike Air Stab silhouette comes into clearer view.

by Brendan Dunne

When the Nike Air Stab made its debut in 1989, the shoe was billed in ad copy as "the most stable running shoe".

For the uninitiated - the shoe's name is a shortening of stability, although some interpreted it as much more aggressive in the sneaker's retro lifeline, resulting in a ban on the sneakers for a time. They're prepped for a 2015 return, even if they might not still hold the crown as the "most stable" shoe in the Swoosh arsenal (that would likely go to the most recent Nike Zoom Structure iteration). There is no release date yet for this particular Nike Air Stab retro.
