A man trying to leave Bermuda was busted by police for trying to get away with hiding $315,000 in cash in the soles of sneakers.
The 40-year-old Kenith Bulford actually had someone else mule the money for him – he was detained with two other women, both of whom were carrying the sneakers in their bags. Prosecutors in the case allege that Bulford is a gang member, and that the money came from drug trafficking.
There is no info about what models, or how many pairs, Bulford used in his cash transportation operation.
Let this be another lesson that smuggling stuff in sneakers probably isn't the best way to go about it at this point.
