Kyrie Irving is part of the crop of current NBA stars who grew up idolizing Kobe Bryant. Now a competitor and friend, Irving suited up against Bryant for the last time Thursday night.
While not yet confirmed, it appeared that Irving offered Bryant a sneaker salute in their final matchup. He wore a "Bruce Lee" Nike Kyrie 2 PE that one has to imagine was inspired by Kobe's popular colorway.
Irving led the Cavs with 26 points and 9 assists in a 120-108 victory.
