Just a couple weeks of regular season games will be played before the NBA Playoffs tip-off and the Celtics have apparently put things in cruise control. The defending Eastern Conference Champions have won just 4 out of their last 9, with 3 of their losses coming to teams currently not holding a playoff spot. Sure, we've become accustomed to the Celtics turning the switch on during the playoffs, but after a midseason trade that involved key players and a lingering injury to Shaquille O'Neal, the C's may need to gel a little bit earlier than the postseason this time around.
With the Celtics having already clinched a playoff berth, forward Kevin Garnett will be making a postseason appearance for the 11th time in his Hall of Fame career. After winning his first ring back in 2008 and coming within a game of winning a second last season, Garnett is sure to be the guy that will get this year's Celtics back on track for the meaningful games. It also happens that Garnett may have a new colorway of his ANTA signature shoe on deck for the opening round.
While Garnett's All-Star shoe was draped in metallic silver, this pair shows up dressed in metallic gold. The golden upper is accented by hits of green and white piping, with plenty of KG personalization spotted throughout the shoe's design. The midsole is done in white and is finished off with a green rubber outsole. This new colorway will be available at select retailers like RMK in the coming weeks.
