UK-based customizer Benji Blunt was recently commissioned by adidas collector and Superstar enthusiast Pokey to work on a custom pair of Superstar 80s. Inspired by Pokey's love of vinyl toys, the project features a matching Qee Bear and a variety of interchangeable shoe tongues.
The Superstar 80s were hand painted with leather paints and feature glow in the dark detailing. Adorning the upper is a safari print that fades on a dark to light blue background.
Shoes are equipped with several tongues that can be switched out and complimented with different lace sets. Handmade tongues include a Qee bear silhouette, fleece backed nubuck and premium tumbled leather.
Along with the shoes came a matching glow in the dark Qee bear, featuring a glow in the dark blue trefoil and hand painted with matching acrylic paint. They're packaged in a unique box with a handheld UV lamp to charge the GID features.
The shoes are currently featured in the Javari "Sneaking into Fashion" Exhibition at London's Covent Garden, London from October 18 - 28.
