A month ago NYC kicked things off with its own showcase of the best sneaker shops and after a few stops across the country we land back in the area that started it all — the Northeast. With great cities like Boston, Philly, and D.C. it was inevitable that we return to the East Coast to show some more love. Location: 6 Clearway St., Boston, MA

The idea of concealing a sneaker shop behind an actual bodega, speakeasy style, was only the start. Sicker than your average, if you're trying to just rock the same kicks as all of your friends then Bodega isn't the look for you. Specializing on high-end kicks with a real style and upscale materials this is some grown man shit — proceed with caution.

Location: 334 Boylston St, Floor 5, Boston, MA

One of the newest spots, Frank the Butcher and crew have provided Boston and the internets with the highest quality Sebago boat shoes, Puma x UNDFTD kicks, and suede Chukkas via Common Projects (not to mention boots from Timberland, Red Wing and Danner). The store truly has a look for everyone and every budget. After the adidas Forum collab last holiday season they have us anticipating heat further down the line — yeah, missing out on the burgundy pair crushed some feelings.

Location: 701 Lynnhaven Pkwy. Suite G-05A, Virginia Beach, VA

Known for stocking up on high-end gear from A.P.C. to Stussy limited drops, the shop holds it down with the shoes to match the pop-luxury look. Need to pull the trigger on some CDG x Chucks or cheetah print Gourmet slip-ons for the summer heat? Thank us later.

Location: 37 Brattle St., Cambridge, MA

Concepts has been a staple in Boston for over 15 years now, and thanks to the opening of its own store in '08 they have not only been a go-to spot for kicks but also overall style in Beantown. The Roshe Runs are the rage right now and other Nike runners don't have much shelf life thanks to customers snatchin' 'em up quick. You can pick up Vans, Jordans, and other must haves for the aresenal. And the New Balance 999 "Kennedy" — you can thank them.

Location: 266 Merrick Rd., Rockville Centre, N.Y.

Known for its superior customer service and quick responses for your inquiries via Twitter, the Long Island shop only messes with the latest and greatest from brands like the usual suspects like adidas, ASICS, Jordan, Nike, Reebok, and Vans. They get their collab game on, too, most recently on some Reebok Pumps.

Location: 1426 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington D.C.

Heading to the DMV? This is a must-stop before you step foot out in our nation's capital. Major goes hard with the Jordans, Nikes, and other basketball kicks but they set themselves apart from must shops with dope collabs like Missoni x Chucks as well as the best Chucks and Pumas. They've got the fitted game on lock, too.

Location: 29B Easton Ave., New Brunswick, N.J.

Our dude Luca holds it down at one of the trillest skate shops on the East Coast. With four locations you are set in the Garden State with your fix of Nike SBs and Vans to kick and push through your local spot.

Location: 267 Central Ave., Jersey City, N.J.

Like most shops, Nike is the store's breadwinner thanks to dope colorways of runners, LeBrons, Dunks, and other classic Swoosh kicks — the takeover, the breaks over.

Location: 494 Clinton Ave, Newark, N.J.

Basically any release that matters you can pick it up here. Specializing in adidas Originals and Jordan Brand gear, thanks to Tahir and FRESH you can stay laced properly 365 (366 in a leap year) and maybe jump on that Sopranos tour too — perfect day.

Location: 580 Rte 122, Ste 17, Patchogue, N.Y.

Who said all of New York's best shoe joints were located in the five boroughs? Sneaker Bistro has been reppin' The Empire State hard with limited release Nike basketball kicks, runners, and Dunks. Need the LeBron Elite series on the feet — yup, Team Bistros got you. Not only are the shoes legit, the streetwear racks are on point too.

Consignment shops sometimes get a bad rap but everyone's got to eat. They are perfect for people out of town making sure they're getting legit kicks and newbies in the game can trust the product as well. Even if you're a veteran sometimes trolling Sole Collector for a pair of OG VIs isn't that easy. Once Wale popped up on our Spotted section last fall looking for a few pairs in the shop, the street cred went up immensely, but Philly already had nothing but love.

Wiz and Mac Miller aren't the only style icons in the city of steel. Soul II Soul is your best look as far as your Jordans, Reeboks, and The Three Stripes go and they can also fit you with some ill New Eras and an in-house DJ to keep it trill while you're poppin' tags — word to Dame Dash.

One of the criterias for achieving sneaker shop Hall of Fame status is getting a brand to team up with you for a collab. Packer Shoes is about that life. After 100 years in the biz Reebok and the sneaker artist Stash paid homage to the store with its own Pump Graphlite. If you missed out on that you wont be disappointed with their variety of classic New Balance and Nike running shoes as well as other Reebok x Packer cook-ups. The Biz Markie PRO-Keds were for Packer, too.
