The latest colorway of the Under Armour Curry 6 pays homage to Oakland's Sideshows, pop-up parties that began in the '80s in East Oakland mall parking lots to showcase cars.
"I was determined to bring my love of cars and pay homage to the ‘Sideshow’ culture here–the spectacle that it is–that’s all Oakland. I wanted to bring that story to life and pay respects to the car lovers out there," said Stephen Curry in an official press release.
This colorway features a black knit upper, black overlays, and a bright orange lacing system that wraps around the heel. The darker color scheme sits atop full-length HOVR cushioning in the midsole and a white rubber outsole for a bit of contrast.
Before officially releasing to the public, the "Oakland Sideshow" Curry 6 will be available virtually via an NBA2K MyTEAM Challenge running from Feb. 22 to Feb. 28. Players who can beat the team of Currys and knock down 14 threes will be rewarded with a virtual pair. A limited number of pairs are also currently available at the SC30 x Oakland pop-up location at 472 9th Street in downtown Oakland. The wider launch will take place on March 1 at Under Armour stores, underarmour.com, and other select retailers for $130.
