Last month, Q-Tip delighted hip-hop fans around the world with a surprise announcement of a new A Tribe Called Quest album. We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your service is an all-new body of work recorded following an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last year and features founding member Phife Dawg who passed away in March. The project officially hit streaming services yesterday and the group is slated to perform on Saturday Night Live tonight.

This year is also special for veteran MC Consequence, who made his debut on Tribe's 1996 album, Beats, Rhymes and Life. A featured artist on We got it from Here, Cons is celebrating his 20th year in the game and his appreciation for Tribe with a new FILA sneaker collaboration.

Before heading to 30 Rock for SNL, Cons treated Instagram followers to an initial look at his Tribe x Cons 20 FILA FX-100 on-foot. The classic high-top is styled in Tribe's signature scheme of black, red, and green. We asked Cons how the collaboration came about.

"I spoke to my guy Sean Lynch over at FILA," Consequence said. "I went to an event they had at Stadium Goods. And I knew we had the anniversary coming up of Beats, Rhymes and Life, so we talked about doing it. Then I got with my guy Anthony Quezada and we started the initial outline sketches together. I got that over to FILA, we went through a few drafts and got to a final product that I was happy with."

While Cons has had the sneakers for about a month, he held off on the debut to coincide with the release of the new Tribe album. Fans will be happy to know that while there's not a confirmed release date, a limited run of the shoe will be made available to the public in the future.
