One of New Balance's most recognizable silhouettes is dropping in a stealthy black colorway next month.
The 990v4 is an evolution of the original New Balance 990 sneaker, which first released in 1982 and holds the distinction of being the first athletic shoe priced at $100. Now, with the v4, it's been modernized with new tech and materials, but the heart of the model remains.
The 990 is perhaps most famous for being a staple in Baltimore and D.C., areas which are also known for being fond of black-based colorways, so you can probably expect to see these all over the streets in the DMV this summer.
These "Black" New Balance 990v4s drop at select retailers on June 1 for $165.
