The New York Mets punched their ticket to the 2015 World Series last night, beating the Chicago Cubs in four straight games. Many things can be attributed to the team's success this season, but there's one thing that might really behind it all: Jerry Seinfeld's Mets-themed Nike Shox.
A few months back, Seinfeld, who's a renowned sneaker enthusiast, shared an image of a pair of Nike Shox Turbo VIs that he customized on NIKEiD in white, orange, and blue, with the caption, "I made these on NIKEiD in the Spring for Mets '15. Working like a charm so far.."
Seinfeld continued to wear the sneakers as a good luck charm. Six days ago, he posted another picture and said, "Still working."
Then as the Mets continued to win, Seinfeld kept wearing the Shox. For Game 3 of the NLCS, he said, "Loose laces tonight. Not a problem for the Magic Sneakers. Got Game 3!"
Last night when the Mets finally defeated the Cubs, Seinfeld posted a video of him jumping in the Shox and clicking his heels. This time his caption read, "National League Champion Shoes!"

It's unlikely that he'll cease to wear these sneakers as the Mets head to the World Series. If they happen to win, the Shox should make their way to Cooperstown.
