You don’t have to tell us how inspiring it is to be around great photographers. We round up our favorites every week. But it looks like the folks over at Distinct Life are just as enthusiastic as we are - enough for them to design a shoe around it.
Distinct Life has teamed up with Reebok in the first of a collection of collaborative sneakers under the #DistinctViews hashtag. Drawing directly from camera design, the upper of their first offering, a GL6000 Mid, is made up in tonal black nubuck and ripstop. Hits of red pop up on the white midsole, piping around the heel, and a neoprene sock. The outsole is clear, allowing a window to photography printed on the midsole and sockliner by Jeremy Deputat.
Deputat’s featured work centers around Detroit, the hometown of Distinct Life, encapsulating exactly the views that you’d see from, and around, the store. Deputat’s work is part of what inspired the ongoing collaborative collection of shoes, so it’s fitting that he should be featured first.
The Distinct Life x Reebok GL6000 Mid #DistinctViews is set to release in limited quantities starting July 15.
