Air Max Day has come and gone, but the influence of Nike’s Air Max 1 permeates every day in the world of sneakers. The latest release from Nike of the Air Huarache Light takes that influence literally in their “University Red” and “Dark Curry” colorways, each pair reflecting the classic Air Max 1 they take their names from.

The “University Red” pair sees the same red suede mudguard with a white midsole and black outsole. The mesh and lacing of the Huarache Lights reflects the white on the OG Air Max, with a hit of grey on the toe, like the quarter of the originals.

The “Dark Curry” pair uses the same tones of brown on the mudguard, lining and lacing, while the white vamp and tongue stay true to the original. Blue branding on the tongue is an exact reference, while the white midsole and black outsole keep the tradition alive.

Check for these pairs to release on Thursday April 23 at retailers like size? for £90 ($135US).
