Sneaker companies pull all sorts of stunts to gain press for their upcoming releases. Whether it’s the slow build of genuine interest or shameless attention grabs sometimes the best PR is non-traditional marketing. But rarely do they make it as personal as what Nike just pulled with Christian Ronaldo.

To bring attention to Ronaldo’s Mercurial Superfly CR7 “Silverware” Nike wrapped Ronaldo’s Portugal teammate Ricardo Quaresma’s car entirely in foil. From the wheels to the windshield the entire car is encased in a sheet of aluminum, emblazoned with the CR7 logo – in case anyone wasn’t sure of the prank’s provenance. The car now matches the silver soccer cleats just released as a part of the CR7 collection. NikeFootball revealed the prank with Ronaldo via Snapchat, and Quaresma took to Twitter to share his disbelief.
