Every fashion week, Style Dot Com dives deep into Google Analytics, tallies up the views and lets the people know what were the most-viewed collections that particular season. The usual suspects typically top the rankings—Chanel, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana (though we'll have to wait till next season to see if their comments have any effect), Prada, Givenchy and Louis Vuitton are always amongst the fray. But this season, not that surprising, Kanye West and Adidas brought the knockout punch and dethroned Chanel from the top spot with Yeezy Season 1.
It wasn't even close either. More than 1 million pageviews separated #1 and #2. It definitely helped that Style was in on the Kanye beat from the get-go. Between the show and the legendary interview (which is apparently Style's most read story of all-time), traffic was apparently up 95% for the month of February according to Fashionista. Granted, fashion week in general accounts for a hefty traffic boost, but this is pretty fucking legendary. Kanye has done fashion collections before, of course, but the hype surrounding the proper debut of his long-awaited Adidas collaboration, along with the sheer force of publicity spread by Kanye and the Kardashians, it was everywhere, dwarfing anything even remotely fashion related he had done in the past. Men lie, women lie, but numbers don't lie.
