Time is beginning to run down on the Kobe 9, as news surfaced the other day that Nike plans to release the Kobe 10 starting in February 2015. With the holiday season approaching, you may have to make some edits to your wish list as the Kobe 9 Elite "Sequoia" is scheduled to drop right before Thanksgiving.

Thanks to Foot Locker's #WeekofGreatness, we got an up close look at the "Sequoia" Kobe 9, but today Nike drops off official images to sink your teeth into. There's not much back story on this colorway, but the nickname gives nod to the Sequoia National Forest in California, which is home to the tallest trees in the world. According to Nike though, the only back story that comes with these is the combo of green and sequoia is "reminiscent of the colors found on a game table". Whatever you may think, these are some of the most detailed Kobe 9 Elites to hit retail so far, and will certainly sell out amongst the Black Friday hysteria.

The Kobe 9 Elite "Sequoia" drops November 26 at Foot Locker and other select locations for $225.
