Despite Under Armour's failed attempt to lure the OKC Thunder superstar, the Maryland-based company didn't exactly take the L, as some sneakerheads might view it. Under Armour CEO and Founder Kevin Plank recently spoke with Bloomberg and revealed a positive that actually came out of the bidding war with Nike.
"We wanted to send a message really out to every athletic director, every president of every team club, every league commissioner," Plank told Bloomberg's Stephanie Ruhle. "If you have a deal, there's no deal too big that we can't sit at the table and play with, that you should call us if we haven't already called you by any chance. But that's where we wanted to send that message loud and clear."
If there are any organizations or big-name sneaker free agents looking to explore other deals in the future, Under Armour might've just automatically put itself in the conversation.
