Hanon is collaborating with ASICS and Onitsuka Tiger on a project that pays tribute to the history between Scotland and Japan. The two-sneaker "Glover" pack honors Scotsman Thomas Glover, a.k.a. the Scottish Samurai, who was instrumental in modernizing Japan and overthrowing the shogun.
The collaboration features the ASICS Gel-Epirus decked out in a mint green suede with purple nubuck overlays and the Onitsuka Tiger Colorado Eighty-Five outfitted in golden yellow and black. Both sneakers incorporate themes that reflect Glover's Scottish background as well as the life he made for himself in Japan.
Look for the collection to release this Saturday, September 27, in-store and online (9 a.m. EST) from Hanon. The ASICS Gel-Epirus will be £119 ($194) and its counterpart, the Onitsuka Tiger Colorado Eighty-Five, is £109 ($178).
