Last night in New York City, Nike SB kicked off Go Skateboarding Day a bit early by hosting an event on the upper west side. Nike Skateboarding pros like Stefan Janoski were on hand to show-off their skills and mingle with attendees. Nike's Skate Every Damn Day moniker could be seen across the t-shirts of skaters and on-lookers. A preview of the new Nike SB P-Rod 7 was just one of the many surprises at this invite-only event. Luckily we had @DeadstockNYC on hand to capture some pictures.

Check out the rest of Nike SB's planned events for Go Skateboarding Day in the press release below:

Go Skateboarding Day in New York begins at Flushing Meadows Maloof Park and features the Red Bull Best Trick Contest. Nike SB will then take over the Lower East Side’s Coleman Oval Park with Nike SB pros and the 5Boro NYC and CCS x Nike SB Best Trick Contests. The grand finale kicks off as the Nike SB Skate Safari Barge, a 250ft barge converted into a floating skate park, makes trips back and forth from Manhattan to Brooklyn.

The Nike SB Skate Safari Barge will host special programming throughout the weekend, including the must-see special demo by Nike SB athlete Paul Rodriguez alongside other members of the Nike SB pro team, taking place at 8pm on Friday, June 21st.

In Sao Paulo, Brasil, Nike SB pros Cezar Gordo and Rodrigo Gerdal will help celebrate Go Skateboarding Day at the iconic Praça Charles Miller, featuring many different obstacles, DJs and more.

In L.A., Nike SB will host a skate safari through the city. In the week leading up to Go Skateboarding Day, riders have skated three iconic spots: the L.A. Courthouse, the Wilshire Rails and the Downtown L.A. Car Wash next to the Staples Center. Exclusive prizes will be given to those who shared photos of their skate safari to each spot. The event on GSD will be held at Hollenbeck Skate Plaza and Nike's Sixth & Mill skatepark with the Nike SB team.
