Puma are back with a new edition of the evoSPEED, built for players who want to add an added dimension of speed and acceleration to their game. The evoSPEED 1.2 is built from the same mold as its predecessor, except there have been several updates.

It starts with the single layer microfiber upper, which now features a touch and control component. Puma has added small dimples right around the forefoot. The concept is simple; allow for better grip on the ball in wet and dry conditions.

There has been several radical modifications added to the soleplate. Immediately your eye will be drawn to the SprintTrack that has been added to add an extra level of stability. The soleplate is strengthened from the midfoot through the heel. The studs have also been altered, with Puma choosing to trim them down and make them thinner, which means you can penetrate and release from the surface quicker.

For optimal comfort, a minimized tongue and heel have been added, reducing pressure on the Achilles tendon whilst the sock liner distributes the foot’s pressure evenly.

Finally, the design. Puma has really turned things up here and added a large PUMA hit on the lateral side of the boot. This is the first time Puma has ever done this on a soccer shoe and it adds a completely new visual cue.

Sergio Agüero commented after testing the finished boot, “I am always excited to wear a new boot. After the v1.11 and the first evoSPEED, this is the third SPEED boot that I have worn and it is definitely the best.  PUMA’s boots are constantly improving and the innovations they create help me to perform better when I play.  I appreciate the fact that they incorporate my feedback when they develop new boots and I am delighted with this latest result.”

The new PUMA evoSPEED 1.2 FG football boots will be on pitch from today and available in-store globally from the 1st of June 2013.
