A shoe so impressive that it made its global appearance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Nike Air Hyperdunk is truly the real definition of modern basketball sneaker design.

For the first time ever, Nike Flywire was taken from track spikes and introduced to a basketball shoe. The idea of the lightweight technology came from the concept of suspension bridges. To mimic cables on a bridge, Nike designers wrapped strong nylon fibers around the shoe for dynamic support. As a result the Hyperdunk was born- an ultra-light sneaker that had its very own suspension system.

To really set the sneakers apart from the rest, Nike applied another new innovation, Nike Lunarlon, to give the shoe a strong and comfortable foundation. The Nike Hyperdunks have become so popular that, even four years after it’s debut, they’re still being worn by professional ballers around the world.
