You’ll have to wait until next year for the return of Ozark, Netflix’s Emmy-winning crime drama starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney.

Tuesday, the streamer shared a new teaser for the show’s final bow, revealing that Part 1 of Season 4 will premiere on Jan. 21. Season 3, as currently-in-withdrawals fans will note, dropped way back in March 2020.

The final season’s two parts will be comprised of seven episodes each. Bateman (Marty Byrde) and Linney (Wendy Byrde) are joined in the cast by Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, and Julia Garner. The latter, whose performance as Ruth Langmore regularly steals the show, has won two Emmys in the role.

Tuesday’s teaser opens with a series of slow-moving shots of what should be familiar terrain for Ozark fans. “Money is, at its essence, that measure of a man’s choices,” Marty says in the voiceover. This, of course, is a shortened version of an oft-quoted Marty passage from the show’s pilot.

This summer, Billboard reported that Killer Mike had been cast in a cameo role for Ozark’s fourth season. According to the report, Mike—a fan of the show prior to joining the cast—will encounter Ruth when she hits her “lowest point” yet.

Returning as showrunner, writer, and executive producer for Ozark’s two-part closer is Chris Mundy. In an interview last year with Gold Derby, Mundy explained that—while Season 5 is technically a single, final season—he and everyone in the writers room treated it “more as, like, two.” See more from Mundy below.
