Apple’s gaming business is booming.
According to the WSJ’s analysis, Apple’s App Store generated $8.5 billion during the company’s fiscal 2019, approximately $2 billion more than the combined operating profit generated from Xbox maker Microsoft, Playstation manufacturer Sony, and gaming giants Nintendo and Activision Blizzard.
The report goes on to say that Apple’s gaming revenue could’ve been higher, as mobile analytics firm Sensor Tower claims the iPhone maker received $15.9 billion in revenue from the App Store in 2019.
